Readie Construction

Readie Construction, a well-established main contractor specialising in the delivery of new build, refurbishment and fit out projects operating across various sectors since 2008, have moved from Eque2’s Construct for Sage 50 Accounts solution to EVision construction accounting software for effective management of construction projects.

Growing With Eque2 Solutions

Readie Construction had been using Eque2’s Construct for Sage 50 Accounts solution for several years, but having organically grown through repeat business that comes from the high quality of their work, it was felt they had outgrown their current solution. The business now has a turnover over £100m and are forecasting to grow this to £150m this financial year, therefore they required a new system to manage the increase in volume and more complex projects that they were now managing.

Jessica McCarthy had recently joined Readie Construction as Finance Director and came with many years’ experience working within the construction industry in similar roles using construction accounting software. She commented: ‘When I joined the company, I always knew we would need to move to a more robust solution to manage our business processes than that already in place. Eque2’s Construct solution is perfectly suitable for a smaller contractor, but for a business of our size, we needed a system that could handle the complexities involved with our larger projects’.

Readie Construction looked at several ERP solutions on the market, and after carefully considering options, EVision was selected owing primarily to its functionality and the benefits this would bring, but also the familiarity and relationship built with Eque2 having already used Construct played a part in the process.

Increased Functionality

EVision construction accounting software will provide Readie Construction with the increased functionality that they require which includes better procurement control and increased reporting needed to manage the type of projects the business manages. In addition, the teams are still dealing with handwritten purchase orders which comes with its own challenges, so although it is a process change for those involved, the company will benefit from gaining efficiencies moving this process into EVision. Jessica commented ‘We are definitely looking forward to automating some of our current manual processes helping us work more efficiently as a business.’

Connecting On-Site And Back Office Teams With Real-Time Data

Due to current processes, the team on-site producing CVR’s are currently working with data which is four weeks behind. With EVision, Readie Construction will have the ability to view real-time cost information from one solution facilitating the creation of more accurate CVR’s allowing the company to review and interrogate the financial performance of each project. Lee Chalk, Managing QS advised ‘it will be a real benefit to the on-site teams to have access to the latest information wherever they are when producing these reports and gives us the confidence that they are accurate.’

Software Partner For Life

Doug Openshaw, Head of Sales at Eque2 commented ‘It is great to see one of our customers grow consistently year on year and to know that we are able to support them throughout their journey with the solutions we have available. It shows that we really are a software partner for life having solutions available for companies of all sizes and look forward to continuing our relationship with Readie Construction’.

It will be a real benefit to the on-site teams to have access to the latest information wherever they are when producing these (CVR) reports and gives us the confidence that they are accurate.
